Hackers hacked the licensing system in Windows and Microsoft Office

by times news cr

The hacker group Massgrave has hacked Microsoft’s licensing system, allowing activation of virtually all versions of Windows and Microsoft Office, including volume licenses with Extended Security Updates (ESU). This was reported by the Ghacks portal, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.

Massgrave claims that their method does not require installing third-party software, changing system files, or tampering with the operating system. They have successfully tested the activation technique for Microsoft Office, Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11, all editions of Windows Server up to Windows Server 2025, as well as ESU and CSVLK.

In addition, the hackers shared screenshots of activated versions of Windows with ESU, which confirms their claims. Massgrave plans to release the Windows activation tool to the public in the coming months.

Experts believe that Massgrave’s tool will help users extend the work on Windows 10 after the end of support, scheduled for October 14, 2025. Microsoft, in turn, recommends that users upgrade to Windows 11 or continue using the old version of the OS on a paid basis, offering an additional year of support for $30.
