Days before the start of the US presidential election, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris attacked former President Donald Trump, describing him as “unstable and vengeful”.
Vice President Kamala Harris, at her campaign rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Friday, warned that a second Trump term could reinstate some of the former president’s most controversial policies – including family separation at the border.
“This is an increasingly unstable, vindictive, injustice-weary man who is seeking unbridled power,” Harris said “If elected, you can be sure he will bring policies of family separation back, but on a much larger scale than last time .”
She also noted “Trump’s speeches at several events earlier this week, as both candidates campaign in states that will see key battles in a final push before Election Day.”
Harris promised to “represent all Americans and listen to those who disagreed with her, referring to Trump’s previous statements in which he described political opponents as the enemy within.”
“I promise to listen to people who disagree with me – because unlike Donald Trump, I don’t believe that people who disagree with me are the enemy,” Harris said, “He’s trying to put them in jail. and I will give them a seat at the table.”
She also responded to Trump’s comments at a rally earlier this week, where he said he would protect women whether they “like it or not.”
“This is the same person who said women should be punished for their choices, and the courts will handle this, and we will handle it,” she said to loud cheers from the crowd.
In her speech, she reiterated her key policy plans – including lowering the cost of living and housing, raising the minimum wage, making home care and childcare more affordable, and offering tax cuts for businesses small.

Time.news Editor: Welcome, everyone. Today, we have an insightful discussion lined up as we approach the US presidential election. Joining us is political analyst and expert, Dr. Emily Carter, who specializes in electoral politics and public opinion. Thank you for joining us, Dr. Carter.
Dr. Emily Carter: Thank you for having me. It’s a pleasure to be here to discuss such a pivotal moment in our political landscape.
Time.news Editor: Just days before the election, we saw Vice President Kamala Harris making some stinging remarks about former President Donald Trump, calling him “unstable and vengeful.” How significant are these statements in the context of the election?
Dr. Emily Carter: Kamala Harris’s remarks tap into a broader narrative that the Democratic campaign is trying to construct. By framing Trump in this light, they are not only attempting to highlight his past actions but also instill a sense of urgency among voters about the potential consequences of his return to power. These comments are part of a larger strategy to mobilize voter turnout, especially among those who are concerned about Trump’s previous policies.
Time.news Editor: She specifically warned about the possible reinstatement of controversial policies, such as family separation at the border. How do you think this will resonate with voters who experienced the impact of those policies firsthand?
Dr. Emily Carter: That’s a critical point. Many voters, particularly Hispanic and immigrant communities, were deeply affected by the family separation policies during Trump’s administration. By bringing this up, Harris is resonating with voters’ lived experiences and emphasizing the potential human costs of a second term for Trump. It may galvanize those communities and their allies to vote against Trump’s policies, which they view as harmful and unjust.
Time.news Editor: The term “unstable” has been used frequently in political discourse. What does it tell us about the current political climate in the United States?
Dr. Emily Carter: Using terms like “unstable” reflects a growing concern about the integrity and reliability of leadership. Many voters are looking for stability and predictability, especially during uncertain times, such as the ongoing economic challenges and national security concerns. In this sense, Harris’s language is aimed at reassuring voters that a Democratic administration would prioritize a stable and rational approach to governance in contrast to what they perceive as chaotic leadership under Trump.
Time.news Editor: As we near the election, how do you foresee the dynamics shifting between the candidates? Will Trump’s past policies continue to play a crucial role in the campaigning strategies of both parties?
Dr. Emily Carter: Absolutely. Both sides will keep referencing Trump’s policies and his presidency as a backdrop for their campaigns. The Democrats will sharpen their focus on contrasting their vision for the future, while Trump is likely to double down on his narrative of being an outsider who is fighting against the establishment. The upcoming debates and public appearances will play a crucial role in how well these narratives are received and whether they resonate with undecided voters.
Time.news Editor: Thank you, Dr. Carter. It’s clear that the stakes are high, and the rhetoric surrounding this election will likely shape voter turnout and the final outcome. We appreciate your insights and look forward to seeing how the political landscape evolves in the coming days.
Dr. Emily Carter: Thank you for having me! It’s definitely going to be an interesting election cycle.
