jpnn.com – JAKARTA – There is talk of a duet between Anies Baswedan and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok as potential candidates for governor – deputy governor of DKI Jakarta.
PDI Perjuangan Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto also responded to the possibility of his party carrying Anies – Ahok in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Regional Election.
Hasto said that his party was still paying close attention to the names of the figures proposed to be nominated as cagub and cawagub of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 regional elections.
Hasto said this in response to a question regarding the PDI Perjuangan’s chances of pairing two former governors of DKI Jakarta, namely Anies Baswedan and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok as candidates for governor – deputy governor of DKI Jakarta.
“The names will be filtered according to suggestions from the regions. Sorry, we can’t name them yet because we are still carrying out the investigation process,” said Hasto at the Selamatan Command Post, Jakarta, Monday (6/5) evening.
Hasto did not deny that Ahok and Anies were figures proposed to the PDI Perjuangan to be appointed as regional heads in Jakarta.
According to Hasto, both of them are figures who reflect the Indonesian character.
“We are a democratic party with an Indonesian character, so the names were proposed from below,” he said.
