Barak Abramov announced earlier today (Tuesday) that he is withdrawing from the deal to purchase Beitar Jerusalem. Since then, ministers and members of the Knesset have put heavy pressure on the businessman in order for him to withdraw and purchase the group from the capital, when in addition to that, he receives messages from the public in order for him to withdraw from the choice to give up.
As mentioned, the team’s fans from the capital promise: “We will attack the subscribers if Abramov withdraws and buys the team. The audience will return to the courts and buy subscriptions, that’s our promise.”
As I recall, Abramov explained the decline from the deal earlier and said: “I entered myself, with great courage, into an unprecedentedly complex deal, without due diligence, by agreeing to take on huge obligations created by the club. This, when there were many different promises from various parties to hire them and help.
In light of the events of the last few days, and in particular the fact that various parties who promised to be willing and help simply evaporated at the moment of truth, after the preconditions stated from day one were not met and will not be met and in light of unacceptable conduct on the part of parties related to the transaction, I have decided that there is a limit and all possible red lines have been crossed. Therefore, I decided to end the negotiations and get rid of the possibility of purchasing the club. I wish great success to Beitar Jerusalem, which is dear to my heart and dear to me. I wish for the team’s success and I will contribute to it in the future, with love and generosity.”
