Heavy rains continue in the hilly areas of the state. The state is on high alert as there is also a risk of landslides. Widespread landslides are reported in many places in the state. The Meteorological Center has warned that heavy rainfall will continue in the state for the next five days.
Heavy rain is continuing in the eastern part of Kottayam district. It has been raining for hours in Melukavu and Munnilav panchayats. In front of Vakakkad, the bridge was submerged. A landslide occurred in Munnilav village. On Mundakayam Erumeli State Highway, the ditch overflowed the bank. Heavy rains are also continuing in the hilly areas of Thiruvananthapuram.
Two people died in Malappuram district and Kollam district due to heavy rain. A young man who went missing in Kollamula, Pathanamthitta, died. Advaita, a native of Kollamula, died.
