It rained at various places in the capital Chennai today. Accordingly, it rained in Mylapore, Tiruvallikeni, Kodambakkam, Thiyagaraya Nagar, Pammal, Ekkaduthangal, Kotturpuram and Raipet. The Met Office has forecast moderate rains for the next five days in Tamil Nadu till the 16th due to the northeast monsoon.
The coastal districts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry and Karaikal will receive moderate to heavy showers. As for Chennai, there is a possibility of moderate rain for the next 48 hours.
