For the well-to-do: the new series by French creator Olivier Asias
It seems that the “HBO” network is establishing its position among the competitors, the streaming giants, with spectacular, smart, and interesting quality series, and the Asias series is a perfect testament to that.
The new series is based on a film of the same name from 1996 that presents the world of French cinema in all its glory. In other words, Irma and P “had to get into extra-large shoes. The good news is that she’s totally up to it.
The plot follows Mira, a Hollywood star who comes to France to film a “quality” series, designed to shake off the image of an untalented star who only makes mainstream blockbusters. While she tries to find a delicate balance between her love life and career, the second protagonist of the series, Fidel, faces additional actors and his private demons.
Mira’s role is played by actress Alicia Wickender, who won an Oscar for her role in the film “The Danish Girl.” It manages to present a particularly impressive gameplay and evokes sympathy throughout the viewing, and in each episode anew. In addition to Vikander, you will find another impressive cast of actors, who turn Irma and P into a televised celebration.
In many ways, the HBO’s new series is undoubtedly a refreshing breeze, one that reminds us all that the American network completely establishes its status and presents quality and interesting content in an era of plenty of series. Irma WP criticizes the film industry, focusing mainly on its not-very-encouraging situation today.
With great actors, exemplary photography, and interesting round characters, alongside the esteemed name of the French creator in charge of directing, this is a series that is almost a cinematic event in itself, and all of that is a good enough reason to turn the evening around, and watch it.
