The National Bank of Belarus has published estimated standard risk values (RVSR), which will come into force on January 1, 2024. These figures may affect the interest rates on loans that banks issue to individuals, enterprises and individual entrepreneurs.
The National Bank decided that starting from the new year, the RVSR for ordinary Belarusians will be 16.44%, and for enterprises – 11.26%. In December, the same thresholds are still in effect: 15.25% for individuals and 10.99% for legal entities.
RVSR are calculated by the National Bank at least once every three months on the basis of average interest rates established by seven systemically important banks for the month preceding the month of calculation. However, recently the main bank of Belarus has become more frequent and changes its RVSR every month.
