The SPID (Public Digital Identity System) solution of Poste Italiane is called PosteId, which allows access with a unique username and password to all online services of the Public Administration, private service providers displaying the SPID logo, and to the authorized services of Poste Italiane. Through SPID, for example, it is possible to access online health services and the registry office, request and obtain state certificates with legal value.

To date, more than 7,500 public and private online services are enabled and over 20 million Italians have activated SPID, of which about 80% of the users issued by Poste Italiane. The request for the SPID-enabled Poste Id service is free and can be made in different ways according to their preferences: they can access the service, at the Post Office (after booking the shift), through the PosteID App or with a request. on the posteid.poste.it site, both citizens who have a National Service Card with PIN or a digital signature and holders of a BancoPosta or Postepay service who are authorized to operate online.
