Jeddah: Large stock of drugs worth crores seized in Indian market The drugs were seized from the port of Jeddah. Jeddah Port Customs has blocked an attempt to smuggle 8,88,000 intoxicating pills into the country hidden inside a barrel. The Saudi Zakat and Taxes, Customs Authority and various security forces found the smuggled goods.

Officials said customs controls continue to be tightened at ports across the country. Recently, officers seized 352 kilograms of hashish and 54,368 kilograms of hashish from Jizan, Najran and Azir. Border Guard spokesman Luff said 63 people had been arrested, including 30 Saudis and 33 foreigners. Colonel Misfer al-Quraini said 23 of them were Yemenis and 10 were Ethiopians.
