(24 News) Humayun Saeed offered acting to Asim Azhar, in a session of the seventeenth Urdu Conference organized by Karachi Arts Council, Humayun Saeed praised Asim Azhar’s acting.
Speaking during the same session, Asim Azhar termed Humayun saeed as the university of acting and said that standing in front of the camera and speaking dialogues is a small part of acting, the major part of acting is behind the camera, while acting is a tough job and he They do not want to do difficult work without learning and understanding and they will not act without training and education.
Further, he mentioned the singer Atif Aslam and said that he chose acting after achieving many successes and then he has also achieved critically important success in the field of singing while he has also made a good place in acting.
It should be noted that Asim Azhar has played a short role in the drama ‘Zinf Aahan’, opposite Hara Mani has also worked in the drama ‘Pugli’ in which Hara Mani played the role of a mental patient.

Asim Azhar: Thank you for having me! It’s truly humbling to hear such words from Humayun Saeed. He’s considered a university of acting for a reason. His experience and talent have shaped the industry, and having his support means a lot to me. It motivates me to grow and learn more in this craft.
Editor: You mentioned that acting is a tough job and that there’s more to it than just standing in front of the camera. Can you elaborate on this idea and how you approach the craft of acting?
Asim Azhar: absolutely. While delivering dialogues is an significant part of acting, the real work happens behind the scenes. understanding the character, the emotions, and the story is crucial. It requires extensive training and education. I believe that to effectively portray a role, one must immerse themselves fully in the character’s journey. This is why I’m dedicated to learning as much as I can before taking on new roles.
Editor: You’ve had notable success in music before transitioning to acting. How do you think your experience as a singer has influenced your approach to acting?
asim Azhar: my journey as a singer has shaped my artistic sensibilities substantially. just like music, acting tells a story but through a different medium. The nuances of performance, conveying emotions, and connecting with the audience are similar in both fields. As a notable example, when I see Atif Aslam achieving success in both singing and acting, it inspires me to follow a similar path and strive for excellence in both realms.
Editor: Speaking of your acting projects,you’ve played roles in dramas like ‘Zind Aahan’ and ‘Pugli.’ What was it like to jump from one medium to another, and how do you select roles?
Asim Azhar: Transitioning from music to acting was both exciting and challenging.When selecting roles, I look for characters that resonate with me and allow me to showcase my abilities. For ‘pugli,’ portraying a mental patient required a different set of skills, and it was vital for me to step out of my comfort zone. Every role teaches me something new and pushes my boundaries as an artist.
Editor: With the rise of new talents in the acting industry, what advice would you give to aspiring actors who may also have an interest in music or othre forms of art?
Asim Azhar: My advice would be to never stop learning. Whether it be through formal training, workshops, or simply observing others, understanding the craft is crucial. Also, embrace your unique journey; blending various art forms can create something remarkable. If someone has a passion for music alongside acting,I say,go for it! each discipline can enhance your understanding of the other.
