Hungary accused the EU of trying to interfere in the country’s politics”/>

Hungary’s sovereignty and government came under direct attack at the EU summit in Brussels on October 17-18, where attempts were made to interfere in the country’s internal politics. This was stated by the Secretary of State for International Communications and Relations in the Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary Zoltan Kovacspeaking on the Sunday program of the Kossuth radio station, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

He said that Prime Minister Viktor Orban wanted to discuss the program of the Hungarian presidency of the EU Council and the preparation of an EU competitiveness pact at a meeting with colleagues, but instead a “frontal attack on the sovereignty of Hungary and its government” was launched.

“Until now, this was due to migration and demographic policies or lower utility bills. Two years ago, Hungary came under attack for its position against the Russian-Ukrainian war, and now tax policy is on the agenda [страны, которая не нравится Брюсселю]”, explained the Secretary of State.

However, the Hungarian government does not intend to abandon its socially oriented economic policy. According to Kovacs, since 2010 the Hungarian government has consistently taken the following position: “if problems arise in the Hungarian economy, which are mainly the result of problems in the European economy, then the authorities will not force people to pay for it.”

The Secretary of State did not rule out that if today the EU leadership interferes in the social, economic and fiscal policies of Budapest, then “in the future, institutions and bureaucrats in Brussels will take a definite position on issues such as party politics in Hungary.”

It recently became known that the Hungarian Foreign Ministry is indignant about the double standards of the EU and leftist forces.
