Hurricane Otis: ISSSTE will give credits to affected beneficiaries

In order to help its members, The Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE) has begun to grant loans of up to 40 thousand pesos to workers and pensioners affected by Hurricane “Otis”who live in Acapulco or Coyuca de Benítez.

Through a statement, the ISSTE stated the following:

“In order to support the workers and pensioners affected by Hurricane Otis, the opinion or certificate issued by the Civil Protection authority for the municipalities of Acapulco de Juárez and Coyuca de Benítez will be excepted on one occasion,” said the ISSSTE in a statement.

The institute asks victims to present their latest receipt of earnings, a valid official identification, proof of address and bank account statement. in order to be able to access the credit they are offered.

In the case of individual pensioners, they must present proof of receipts and deductions issued by the insurer that manages the retirement funds and validated by the pension area.

Loans must be requested within 60 days of the declaration of emergency for Acapulco and Coyuca de Benítez, issued by the National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC).

The process is free, the loan will be given to all those affected who meet the requirements, and “the interest rate is the lowest of the personal credit modalities offered by the institute,” he explained.

The entity’s Representative Office began operations again, after being closed due to the disaster, but “the other state offices continue to operate normally.”
