New Delhi ∙ Meghalaya president Ernest Maury said that BJP has not imposed a ban on eating beef and the party is not against it. Ernest Mowry said in an interview to the news agency that he eats beef. The BJP state president’s statement comes as assembly elections are about to be held in Meghalaya.
“BJP is not against buying and eating beef. I am in BJP and eat beef. There is nothing wrong with that. This time people of Meghalaya will stand with BJP. “The party will do well and the results will be visible,” said Ernest Mawry
BJP has fielded candidates in all 60 seats in the state. After the results, alliances with non-corrupt parties will be discussed. He added that BJP has a no-compromise attitude towards corruption. Election in Meghalaya is on 27th of this month. The result will be declared on March 2.
