“I got upset that she had some chats on her phone and stuff like that, I lost my temper, I hit her twice, she cried and got a big rock out of anger and hit me in the back of the head. From there, I was even more nervous, I hit her two or three more times.” This is what Bogdan Dimitrov, who kidnapped and beat his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend in Kresna, told bTV.
According to the victim, he did not accept her decision to separate.
Ivana came home from London to her grandmother’s house in Kresna last Wednesday. The same day, in her home, her ex-boyfriend attacked her in front of her 76-year-old grandmother and cousin, says the victim, Ivana Simova. After the beating, the man forced her into his car and took her to a wooded area near the city.
“We stopped a little further back behind me the car when he took me down and the fight started with two extremely hard slaps that blackened me and I fell to the ground. And he started with very strong blows, with his fists, with the phone, with his hands on my head. I tried to protect myself in some way and kept telling him that my head hurt, to stop,” says Ivana Simova.
Ivana adds that before leaving the place, the man tried to hit her with his car.
“I felt extremely powerless and that there was nothing I could do to help myself. How far will he go?! Until the end! He threatened me with this, he always told me “you will die”, says the young woman.
The 21-year-old accused of kidnapping and beating has a different version of what happened. He claims that she voluntarily got into his car – plucked him and bit him, and he took out a medical. However, she does not deny that he also hit her.
Ivana’s cousin found her in a serious condition after the beating.
“She contacted us and said he had beaten her up and was asking us to go and save her. We went and found her in a very bad condition – she was all disheveled, covered in blood, torn up, swollen, just in an inhuman condition,” says Yoana Vangelova.
Bogdan Dimitrov does not deny his guilt, but claims that he was provoked by Ivana.
“I’m very sorry and I know I’m guilty, but I want everything to come out and not with these lies to try to make me nastier and nastier,” the young man said.
District Prosecutor’s Office – Blagoevgrad has charged the man with kidnapping, for which he faces 3 to 10 years in prison, and the District Court – Blagoevgrad today issued a restraining order against Dimitrov, which ensures immediate protection of the injured girl.
