An unusual form, an urban exhibition that seeks to show the public those people who are invisible.

Since Thursday, the invisible ones were visible: the homeless, those who have been abandoned, those who do not have a home and who take refuge every day in the streets of San Salvador.

This is the photographic exhibition “Spoken Portrait of Indifference” by photojournalist Marvin Recinos. “This is an issue that is around the corner, that we know they (the homeless) are there and we don’t want to see them,” said Recinos, who has been practicing photojournalism for five years.

A total of 22 photographs, about two meters long, were installed in three points frequently visited by people. One of the samples is located on 49 Avenida Norte (in front of the Jorge «Mágico» González stadium) on 33 Avenida Norte and 49 Avenida Sur and Los Héroes passage.

He confesses that portraits are his passion, so much so that this project took a year and a half to complete. It took him several hours of conversation with the protagonists of his photographs and using his free time to look for his characters.

«Spoken Portrait of Indifference are large-format images that tell us that their protagonists are our countrymen whom we did not feel like ignoring because we did not have time to look at them. And yet, the street—a place of transit for some, a hard home for others—is the meeting point where indifference has its say.” : Marvin Recinos
