This Tuesday (8), United Nations humanitarian workers called for urgent action to stop the escalation in Lebanon and prevent the conflict from “turning into the same catastrophe” seen in Gaza. Israeli bombings, especially in the south of the country and in the southern suburbs of Beirut, have already killed around 1,100 people and displaced more than a million in less than two weeks. Brazilians living in Lebanon are hesitating between returning or staying in the “land of cedars”, they tell RFI.
