Since 2016, Rigoberto Urán has not competed in the Giro d’Italia. Seven years later he returned with a good time trial, in general terms, but which also had the nervousness that will never be eliminated even with several years of seniority.
“I don’t know why I’m afraid to start”, declared the 36-year-old runner after completing his 19 km exercise in 22’53”. Afraid of what? “One is afraid to start again. If there are no nerves, there is no love, ”he expressed.
Regarding the sporting aspects that concern this debut, he believes that he had a good start. “It’s a very flat and aerodynamic time trial, you have to be in position… for now the sensations are good”.
Of course, to give a final judgment he wants to see how the great candidates do. “I have no idea how good the weather was, we have to wait for the real bosses,” he closed with a laugh who will seek to add another top-10 to his long record.
