Singer Jay Park is making a comeback with music that is most Jay Park-like. It is a highly collectible ‘work’ containing 20 songs of the R&B genre with its own unique color.
Jay Park held a music appreciation party to commemorate the release of his 6th full-length album ‘THE ONE YOU WANTED’ at Cheongdam Cine City located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul at 3pm on the 8th.
On this day, Jay Park began by saying, “I have included the songs I have been working on for 8 years in this album. 11 songs are previously released songs, and 9 new songs are included and released. I hope you will love it.”
Jay Park said about this album, which contains 20 songs, “I wrote and composed all the music, and I am attached to all the songs. I hope as many people as possible will listen to it.” He continued, “The reason I included 9 new songs is because I have a desire to improve. In fact, adding just one more song to the existing songs would have been enough to make it a regular album, but I think I have to keep what I have to do as an artist.”
This album is a full-length album released about five and a half years after ‘The Road Less Traveled’ released in 2019. This is the most Jay Park-like album released 8 years after his 2016 album ‘EVERYTHING YOU WANTED’, which won the ‘Musician of the Year’ and ‘Best R&B & Soul Album Awards’ at the 2017 ‘Korean Popular Music Awards’. It is also an R&B album.
Jay Park filled a total of 20 tracks, including 9 new songs including triple title songs such as ‘Gimme a Minute’, ‘Mayday’, and ‘Piece Of Heaven’, and 11 previously released songs. We plan to showcase the essence of R&B.
Jay Park introduced ‘Mayday’, one of the title songs, and said, “When people listen to it, it will be the song that makes them feel most like Jay Park.” He added, “They may be familiar with my voice and music style, and it may be a song that they feel has no impact, but it is a classic song of mine that will remain for a long time. “I hope this happens,” he said. He continued, “The older many singers become, the more sensitive they become to things that are trendy or outdated. However, I have that much pride and confidence in my music, which is why I am releasing the song I wrote 7 years ago now.”
On this day, Jay Park was also asked about his strong impression of the sexy performance. Jay Park immediately said, “I have a lot of concerns,” and added, “I know that many people expect me to expose myself when I perform, and that a performance without exposure could be an opportunity for malicious comments.”
He said, “Sexy performances are one of the things that can bring joy, but I don’t want to rely on them. Although I have released numerous songs, the public still shows the most explosive response to the ‘Body’ stage.
