Identified young people who saved lives in Guantánamo

by times news cr

Two young people from Guantánamo, Henry and Freidi, were identified and classified as heroes after saving two elderly people during the severe weather conditions that have notoriously affected that town.

The visual artist from that province, Daniel Ross Diéguez, highlighted on social networks his altruistic work and the importance of his bravery in the midst of the crisis.

It turned out that, after evacuating their neighborhood due to a false warning of a dam break, Henry and Freidi remained committed to the task of helping those in need.

Likewise, he reported that Henry, in addition to attending to the needs of his community, had to send his wife and daughter to a safe place, keeping in touch with them, although without being able to see them in person.

Diéguez added, in another context, how both young Cubans not only share a strong friendship, but also a love for soccer, despite being fans of rival teams such as Real Madrid and Barcelona.

During these days of uncertainty, the needs of the community have grown. According to Ross, donations of food and medicine have been scarce, leaving families in difficult conditions.

Despite this, the solidarity of some neighbors has begun to make a difference, even if in a limited way. The young people continue to work hard, ready to clean up what the mud has covered and care for those around them.

Sadly, the province of Guantánamo has gone through hell in recent weeks, with multiple deaths, injuries, and missing people, whose relatives are desperately searching.

From other provinces in the country, some communities have made themselves available to help as much as possible.

The regime, for its part, limits itself only to “reporting” on material losses, leaving human losses aside.
