La OCS: sum of strengths or problems?.- Xulio Ríos
Saudi Arabia’s entry will mark the next summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which continues to expand its membership base. However, this extension intensifies the challenge of improving its credibility when it comes to defusing the conflicts and disagreements that some of its partners face. Although the SCO plans to “do more” to appease a world in which tensions of all kinds proliferate, its apparent lack of cohesion may represent an insurmountable handicap. While everyone is worried about Afghan instability, the Sino-Indian relationship continues to spoil the daisy, the Indo-Pakistani relationship remains cold, the Saudi-Iranian relationship remains on hold, the Tajik-Kyrgyz relationship is subdued, only the Sino-Russian axis does not seems to resent too much.
