The court has fixed July 11 as the date for submitting the investigation report of three separate cases regarding the clash between students of Dhaka College and businessmen in the New Market area of ​​the capital.

On Thursday (June 1), the investigation reports of the three cases were scheduled for submission. But the police could not file a report that day. For this reason, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Sultan Sohag Uddin set a new date for submitting the report.

The cases related to the clash are – Courier worker Nahid murder case, Police attack case and Explosives Act case.

Among them, Nahid’s father was killed. Nadeem Hossain filed a murder case at New Market police station as a plaintiff. He mentioned the unknown accused in the case.

On the other hand, the police as plaintiff filed two separate cases under Explosives Act and assault on police. In these two cases, a total of 1,200 people, including businessmen, employees and students of Dhaka College, have been accused.

In this case, 300 unidentified people including 24 businessmen and employees have been accused of attacking the police in connection with the clash between Dhaka college students and businessmen. Besides, in the same case, 700 people from Dhaka College have been accused as anonymous.

In another case under the Explosives Act, 150 to 200 unidentified persons were accused.

On April 17, 2022, at around 12:00 pm, a clash between traders and shop workers of Newmarket started with the students of Dhaka College. The clash lasted for about two and a half hours. After that, the situation came under control at night, but the next day after 10 o’clock in the morning, clashes broke out again.
