The news comes after a visit to the prison of his mother and girlfriend, a meeting during which the student of the University of Bologna gave the two women fruit juices to fight the heat. Then, a small church carved in soap for the mother and the engraved name for the girlfriend as a gift. Tiny but precious signs of hope that move and that remind us of how cruel and ferocious his detention is. And if, as activists and supporters tell via Facebook, Patrick looks positive and thinks he will return to his studies soon as he sends his love, gratitude and appreciation to friends, teachers and his university for their continued support, on the other hand, no interest seems to be shown for the hearing on Tuesday. Patrick said he understood that hearing sessions don’t matter and won’t let him out, activists explain. In fact, it is difficult to hope that Zaki will be able to celebrate his thirtieth birthday at home, on June 16.
How many more days of celebration, how many more days of study, how many more days of life must be stolen from Patrick? We will not take a step back, as Amnesty International-Italy did yesterday on the occasion of its 60th birthday and we will continue to put pressure on every level. Another appeal from civil society, which Celentano concludes as follows: No guys. better to suffer a little hunger but to be able to look us in the eye. Because this is how ideas are born to save the world. And I’m sure the “Dragon” agrees too.
