In the frist ten months of this year,the growth of imports from Italy to Azerbaijan amounted to more than 10 percent,compared to the same period of the previous year.
As Day.Az reports with reference to trend, the director of the Italian Trade Agency Andrea Maccanico said this at a press conference dedicated to the opening of the week of Italian cuisine, organized by the Italian Embassy in Azerbaijan together with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA).
“If we look at the period of the last three years, import growth exceeds 15 percent,” he said.
Andrea maccanico noted that Italy is the main trading partner of Azerbaijan. Italy continues to be the country to which about 40 percent of all Azerbaijani goods are exported.
“This is especially true in the agri-food sector, which includes beverages, wine and other products. This growth has been important, and we actively support these relationships through a number of promotional projects, including the current initiative – Italian Food Week,” he said.
According to him, this event includes master classes. In addition, next week, on Monday, there will be a meeting dedicated to the culture of Italy and Azerbaijan with the participation of local producers.
