The Ministry of Industry and Minerals announced today, Tuesday, the development of production lines for cement factories in Badush and Sinjar in Nineveh Governorate, in accordance with Iraqi and European standards.

The Ministry’s spokeswoman, Doha Al-Jubouri, told the (INA): “In implementation of the directives of the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal Najm, to meet the needs of construction projects taking place in the country and improve the environmental impact of cement factories, the Badoush Cement Factory, affiliated with the General Iraqi Cement Company, has begun transforming its operational system.” To use natural gas instead of black oil and achieve a qualitative leap in production and marketing during this year.”
She added, “The Badoush Cement Factory is one of the important and advanced factories in Nineveh Governorate, and it continues its work to supply citizens and projects in the governorate with Portland cement,” noting that “the factory has witnessed extensive development operations with pure Iraqi efforts, the first of which is converting the system from black oil to gas.” Explaining that “the system contributed to reducing production costs and reducing carbon emissions.”
She pointed out, “The factory staff worked to transform the central control systems for material mills, cement mills, kilns, and services into PLC programmed electronic systems. The staff also worked to pay attention to quality and ensure superior quality, which is considered the true measure of production,” adding, “The factory exceeded capacity.” “The design is designed to produce more than 3,200 tons per day, which will be marketed to citizens and important projects in the governorate.”
Regarding the Sinjar cement factory, Al-Jubouri explained that “the factory stopped working for years due to the events of ISIS terrorist gangs and the destruction and very great damage they caused,” noting that “the Minister of Industry directed the necessity of restarting work in the factory and began doing so since last year:,
She confirmed that “the factory returned to partnership with the private sector and provided many job opportunities for the people of the region. It is considered one of the company’s successful experiences in partnership with the private sector, and contributed to employing workers from the cities of Sinjar and Tal Afar,” explaining that “the factory produces first-class ordinary Putland cement and is distinguished by With strength, durability, luxurious quality, and its conformity with Iraqi and European standards, the cement produced in this factory is also subject to tests in the factory laboratories and in the central laboratory in the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control.”
She pointed out that “the rehabilitation operations included machines, production lines, mills, ovens, and the electrical station, in addition to the implementation and construction of new buildings in place of those that were completely demolished due to the events, and the production wheel was turned in the factory with a high production capacity.”
