The Investigation Department of the ICR in the Irkutsk Region opened six new criminal cases against the organizers of the Dobrota boarding house network for the elderly, who worked in different districts of Irkutsk. Cases were initiated on the basis of the materials of prosecutorial inspections of the activities of institutions. As the senior assistant to the prosecutor of the Irkutsk region for interaction with the media Yevgeny Alferova told Kommersant, the safe stay of citizens was not ensured in the shelters.

“In particular, there were no emergency exits in the premises, there was no autonomous fire alarm or even primary fire extinguishing equipment – fire extinguishers. In addition, medical services were provided without the necessary license, ”she said.

According to the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Irkutsk region, the branches of the Dobrota shelter were operating. “In the course of the investigation, it was established that between the residents of the region and individual entrepreneurs, who are organizers of the activities of boarding houses with round-the-clock stay, contracts were concluded for the provision of accommodation services for the disabled and pensioners. The relatives of the guests systematically made payments to the organizations for the services rendered, ”the department says.

As Kommersant previously reported, on October 11, a criminal case was opened in Irkutsk over the operation of one of the branches of the Dobrota boarding houses, located in the basement of an apartment building. The woman organizer of the shelter was placed under house arrest. On October 16, investigators of the TFR placed in custody her husband and daughter, who were also involved in the family business.
