In Arouca, the ‘reds’ took the lead through an own goal from spanish defender Fontán, in the 12th minute, extending the lead through Argentina’s Di maria, in the 71st, from a penalty.
Wiht this result, Benfica moves up to second place, with 28 points, five behind the leader Sporting and one more than FC Porto, who only play on Monday.
the red-black team still has one game to play, against nacional, in the eighth round.
Arouca, who was not the coach of Vasco Zebra on the bench due to a penalty, went six games without winning in Serie I and is 17th, instead of direct relegation, with eight.
