In space, your screams can be heard just fine. ‘Alien: Romulus’ first trailer

by time news

The “Alien” franchise is preparing to experience its own revival, after the failed first attempt of Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus”. This journey begins this summer with “Alien: Romulus”, the new film by director Fede Alvarez, known for the remake of “Evil Dead” and “Don’t Breathe”.

The film stars Kaylee Spaney, who rose to fame playing Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla, and also stars Isabella Merced, David Johnson, Archie Reno, Spike Fern and Eileen Wu.

We don’t know anything about the film’s script, only that it will take place between Ridley Scott’s “Alien” and James Cameron’s “Aliens,” with Alvarez saying in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he’s already got the Cameron’s blessing, saying he’s “already seen her and loved her.” However, from the first trailer it seems that it aims to revive the atmosphere of the first two, and most beloved, films of the series, something that will perhaps be able to please many.

“Alien: Romulus” opens in theaters on August 16.
