João Félix and Mudryk lead the 4-0 in Athens, which keeps the English team with a 100% campaign in the competition
Chelsea won again in the Conference League, consolidating their good form. After a strong start against Gent at home, the English went to Greece and beat Panathinaikos 4-1, this Thursday (24/10), in the second round of the group stage of the competition.
The Portuguese João Félix opened the scoring in the first half. In the final stage, Ukraine’s Mudryk – who provided an assist for the first goal – added to it. Both continued to make a difference. After all, João Félix scored the third goal with a pass from the Ukrainian and it was the protagonist of the penalty added by Nkunku. Panathinaikos refused under Pellistri.
Chelsea 100%
With this victory, Chelsea reaches six points and places itself in the G8, a group that guarantees automatic classification for the round of 16. On the other hand, Panathinaikos is still with one point, which leaves it out of the playoff group (between 9 and 24th place).
João Félix and Mudryk end Panathinaikos
In the 22nd minute, João Félix received the ball from Mudryk, who went deep on the left and crossed low. João Félix finished with a goal, making the score 1-0 even more dangerous and, soon after, Mudryk made another good move when he played for Enzo Fernández. However, goalkeeper Dragović made a miraculous save, preventing Panathinaikos from conceding another goal.
The second half barely started and Panathinaikos attacked with danger. After three minutes, however, Pedro Neto received the ball on the right and crossed for Mudryk’s header. The Greeks, careless, gave the chance so that, in the ninth minute, João Félix received it from Mudryk and shot from outside the area. The ball deflected off Maksimović and went in, making the score 3-0. In the 13th minute, another goal was scored. João Félix crossed from the left and the ball hit Argentina’s Daniel Mancini. The referee awarded a penalty, which Nkunku took and converted, making it 4-0.
Panathinaikos scores with Pellistri, at 25. And that’s it for the game. It is a pity for the Greeks, who gave their team a lot of applause after the final whistle.
