Kusel – First one, then two, then three. And the fourth egg is already rumbling.
In the Potzberg wildlife park there are offspring again for the giant sea eagle pair Lillifee and Kronos (both nine years old). Three chicks have already hatched.

Wildlife park operator Harald Schauss (56) is already expecting number 4 every minute.
Since 2019, the two parents have been caring for offspring year after year. That means a lot of work for Schauss and his team.
As soon as they are laid, the eggs are taken out of the nest and placed in the incubator. “Otherwise, the first hatched would kill the others because of the pecking order,” explains Schauss.
To ensure that the breeding season is not interrupted, the mother eagle has to make do with duck eggs.
In a few days, however, the chicks are to be placed back in Lillifee’s nest. “But then we have to go in with helmets and protective equipment,” says Schauss.
When it comes to her offspring, eagle mama Lillifee doesn’t take a joke…
