Some Mexican municipalities have decided to suspend the application of traffic fines from the first moments that began on January 1, 2025.

Municipalities of Edomex that suspend traffic fines
Ecatepec
As indicated at the beginning, some municipalities have started with new administration, such is the case of Ecatepec which is now under the command of Mayor Azucena Cisneros Coss, who took office on the first day of the new year.
In an ordinary session, the Ecatepec Council approved the measure to suspend traffic fines, but it will only be during the first 100 days of Coss’ term.
In this municipality, the aim is to reorganize the area of Public Security and Municipal Transit, in addition to stopping corruption.
For this reason, no Ecatepec traffic agent will be able to issue a fine and if they do not comply outside of the measure, they could be fired.
Tlalnepantla
In this municipality, the first ordinary session of the Town Council was held and, as in Ecatepec, the suspension of traffic fines was approved.
This measure will be in force until March 31, 2025.
The decision aims to purge personnel and eradicate corruption among elements that could be involved, in addition to applying sanctions to them.
The reorganization of the security strategy and traffic procedures is also sought, as well as addressing complaints and complaints from residents.
Meanwhile, they clarified that this suspension does not exempt compliance with the Traffic Regulations.

Cuautitlán Izcalli
During the first three months of 2025, the suspension of traffic fines will be applied, according to what was approved in a session of the Cuautitlán Izcalli Council.
