India Alliance: Opposition Parties Unite to Challenge BJP in Parliamentary Elections

In the parliamentary elections to be held this year, the BJP More than 25 parties, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal, DMK, Congress, Samajwadi Party and Trinamool Congress, have come together to form an alliance called India and are increasing their support to topple the government.

In that regard, the first meeting of the India Alliance was held in Patna, Bihar on June 23 last year under the chairmanship of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Subsequently, subsequent consultation meetings were held in Bangalore and Mumbai. Subsequently, the 4th consultative meeting of the India Alliance was held in Delhi on 19th December.

In this case, the consultative meeting of India Alliance was held today (13-01-24) through video. It was reported that in this meeting there is an opportunity to discuss the selection of coordinator and leader of the alliance, start of lobbying, division of constituencies, participation in Bharat Jodo Neeti Yatra to be undertaken by Rahul Gandhi and other issues related to the start of election work. Major leaders and representatives of India’s alliance parties participated in this meeting held through video.

Rahul Gandhi MP, Mallikarjuna Kharge, Sitaram Yenjuri on behalf of Congress Party, M.K.Stalin, Deputy General Secretary of the party on behalf of DMK, Kanimozhi Deputy General Secretary of DMK, Sarath Pawar, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Omar Abdullah on behalf of Nationalist Congress Party were present in this meeting. They participated through video presentation. It was reported that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had rejected the role of coordinator of the ‘India’ alliance.

In this situation, Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge has been chosen as the leader of the All India Alliance of Opposition parties. Kharge has been selected as the leader of the India Alliance while talks were going on regarding the division of seats in states like Delhi, West Bengal, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
