India launches rocket with ocean exploration vehicle

India has successfully launched a PSLV carrier rocket with nine satellites into orbit. This was reported by the Indian Space Research Organization. The rocket was launched from the national cosmodrome on the island of Sriharikota at 09.26 Moscow time.

Among the satellites is the latest Oceansat. It is designed to monitor processes in the World Ocean and oceanographic research.

Also, a Bhutan-made apparatus was delivered into space. A satellite weighing only 15 kilograms will fly over the territory of this country twice a day and photograph the surface. The Indian rocket also launched a number of small satellites of Indian and foreign companies into orbit.
