Vaibhav Gupta won the 14th edition of the popular TV reality show ‘Indian Idol’. Shubodeep Das Chowdhury was selected as the first runner-up in this competition. The grand finale of this season was held on Sunday (March 3).

According to India Today, Kanpur-based singer Vaibhav Gupta bagged Rs 25 lakh (over Rs 33 lakh in Bangladeshi currency) in prize money along with the trophy. The first and second runner-up winners Shubodeep Das Chowdhury and Piyush Panwar received a trophy as well as a check of Rs 5 lakh. Ananya Pal was selected as the third runner-up in this competition. He was given a check of Rs.3 lakh.

Giving thanks, Vaibhav Gupta said, “Winning the trophy of Indian Idol-14” seems unreal! It is also an honor to carry forward this prestigious show as a legacy. This journey was full of joy. There are many emotions, challenges and some unforgettable moments. Kumar Shanu, Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani served as the judges for this year’s grand finale.
