Indonesian President Joko Widodo has announced that the ban on palm oil exports will be lifted from the 23rd of this month.

Since Indonesia stopped exporting palm oil on April 28, the price of cooking oil has risen in various countries that import from that country.

Farmers protested against the decision by the Indonesian government, which is the world’s largest exporter of palm oil.

The MPs also demanded that the government consider lifting the ban on exports as 60 lakh tonnes of palm oil is currently in stock. Following this, it has been announced that the ban will be lifted.
