Inflation rose to 13.80 percent in November

Inflation increased ‌by⁤ about 3 percent in a month and stood at 13.80 percent in November. This pressure ⁣of inflation, which determines‍ the rise​ in commodity prices, has fallen on the people of‍ the country. ⁤ ‌

Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS)⁣ on Thursday (December 5) released the updated Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for November this year on inflation.

According to the data⁣ published by BBS, the price‍ of rice, pulses, oil, salt, fish, meat, vegetables, spices and tobacco products increased and the rate of ‍food⁤ inflation increased.

According to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics data, the general or average inflation rate also increased in November. This⁣ rate increased to 11.38 percent last month ⁣which was ⁢10.87 percent. Prices ‍of house rent, furniture, home ‍appliances, medical care,⁤ transport and educational⁢ materials increased in November.The rate of inflation​ in this sector was⁣ 9.34 percent in​ October, while it increased to ​9.39 percent‌ in November.

Food inflation ‍rose⁣ to 12.54 percent in August 2023,the highest in 12 years. ‌Earlier, the highest inflation in food was in October 2011. Than 12.82 percent inflation is seen.
