Inflation increased by about 3 percent in a month and stood at 13.80 percent in November. This pressure of inflation, which determines the rise in commodity prices, has fallen on the people of the country.
Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on Thursday (December 5) released the updated Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for November this year on inflation.
According to the data published by BBS, the price of rice, pulses, oil, salt, fish, meat, vegetables, spices and tobacco products increased and the rate of food inflation increased.
According to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics data, the general or average inflation rate also increased in November. This rate increased to 11.38 percent last month which was 10.87 percent. Prices of house rent, furniture, home appliances, medical care, transport and educational materials increased in November.The rate of inflation in this sector was 9.34 percent in October, while it increased to 9.39 percent in November.
Food inflation rose to 12.54 percent in August 2023,the highest in 12 years. Earlier, the highest inflation in food was in October 2011. Than 12.82 percent inflation is seen.
