(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, MARCH 21 – Sardegna Ricerche is first at the European Innovation Procurement Awards (Euipa) 2023, the prize for public and private bodies capable of proposing innovative tenders.
The only Italian agency – for the “Innovation procurement initiative” category – was awarded in Brussels by a jury of experts who announced the winners at the European Innovation Council summit.
Innovative procurement – a project created with ERDF funds 2014-2020 – is strategic for Sardegna Ricerche as it contributes to modernizing the public sector with more efficient and economical solutions, facilitating access to the market for new operators, especially small and medium-sized enterprises and, at the same time, they manage to provide technological responses to the needs of public administrations that cannot find solutions on the market.
From the innovative contracts implemented by Sardegna Ricerche, the intelligent streetlights wanted by the municipality of Monserrato to improve traffic were born: through sensors connected to the local police station, they signal long queues or road accidents. Again the smart barriers of the municipality of Pula which has thus found the system to protect the Nora lagoon even in the event of floods or heavy rains. The University Hospital of Cagliari is creating a new tool for the early diagnosis of colorectal cancer and the regional emergency emergency company has completed an innovation contract to guide helicopters with new flight and landing assistance tools in weather conditions adverse. Finally, the municipality of Fonni has created a prototype of an intelligent bin for separate waste collection.
