Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The General Directorate of Intelligence announced today, Friday, the overthrow of two antiquities dealers in possession of a rare piece in Baghdad.
The directorate said in a statement: “Detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate were able to arrest two defendants who trade in antiquities, one of whom is a foreign national,” noting that “they were seized in possession, red-handed, of a rare antiquity that they intended to sell.”
The statement added, “The operation was carried out in the Karrada area in Baghdad after obtaining the necessary judicial approvals and coordination with the National Intelligence Service and a detachment from the First Division of the Federal Police,” indicating that “the accused were handed over to the fundamentally competent authorities.”
