The head of the National Sports Institute (INDES), Yamil Bukele, announced the holding of the largest gaming festival in the world “Gamergy”, which for the first time in El Salvador, is scheduled to take place on October 26, as part of the agenda for this 2024.

Juan Diego García, director of Americas at GGTECH Entertainment, expressed that the holding of this festival demonstrates the good path that the country is developing in the field of technology and video games and highlighted: “We have been working for a few months with the INDES . “We are surprised by what we saw yesterday at the presentation of the INDES 2024 Agenda.”

In addition, he reported that Fortnite and Minecraft agreed to have a map of El Salvador. With this they will be able to play in the National Library, SurfCity and other emblematic places: “That the two largest games agree to have a map with spaces in El Salvador is relevant as it begins to be shown to the world.”

Along the same lines, Yamil Bukele expressed: “Gaming and Esports are a reality and perhaps we have not dimensioned everything that this means. Talk to your kids and ask them about it.”

GAMERGY, owned by IFEMA and GGTech Entertainment, is an international gaming event, which has had several hosts such as: Spain, Mexico. Argentina and recently the United States, with more than 22 shows to date.
