As part of a working trip to Dushanbe to participate in an international parliamentary conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova held a meeting with the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulenom Ashimbayev.
As Day.Az reports, during the conversation the parties expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of relations between the two states and their parliaments.
Maulen Ashimbayev congratulated Sahiba Gafarova on the successful holding of elections to the Milli Majlis and her re-election to the post of Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan. He emphasized that Azerbaijan is an important and reliable partner for Kazakhstan, and noted the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations. The importance of interaction between the legislative bodies of the two countries was also emphasized.
Sahiba Gafarova expressed gratitude for the congratulations and recalled her previous meetings with Maulen Ashimbaev. She noted that such meetings and negotiations help deepen inter-parliamentary cooperation. According to her, Azerbaijanis and Kazakhs are united by a common history, cultural and spiritual values, and relations between the two countries have strengthened significantly over the years of independence. The speaker also emphasized the important role of close contacts between heads of state, which contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation.
The importance of regular mutual visits and meetings at the level of parliamentary delegations, as well as the active activities of friendship groups in the parliaments of both countries, was noted at the meeting. Such visits and discussions within international parliamentary organizations are key to further strengthening ties and resolving common issues.
In addition, the parties exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
