After the super success of ‘The Kerala Story’ and her strange role in the web series ‘Sunflower 2’, Ada Sharma is in the news these days with her new film ‘Bastar The Naxal Story’. In this special meeting, Ada talks openly on many issues like her film, changing role of heroines in Bollywood, army background, proud moment, inferiority moment, mother and grandmother.

Once upon a time, the role of heroine was considered limited to dancing and singing, but now heroines are seen taking charge of the action in women-oriented films. Before your film, Yami Gautam was also seen doing action tricks in Article 370. How do you see this shift?

– I think film and society inspire each other. Sometimes films are made inspired by society, and sometimes society gets inspired by films. As society is changing, the roles of heroines in films are also changing. Today women are being given more and bigger responsibilities in different fields and the same is being reflected in films too. I consider myself lucky that I am getting a chance to work in the era of heroine-centric films. Got an opportunity to introduce the color of action in my role. This film of mine is based on the brutal murder of 76 soldiers who had to be martyred for the country.

Ada Sharma wore grandmother’s old saree, fans lost their hearts on this style of the actress.

How would you define your patriotism?

-Before being an actress, I consider myself a citizen of the country as a girl. For me, patriotism is that you don’t ask what your country can do for you. Your patriotism should be what can you do for your country? Respect for public property, saving electricity by switching off lights, not discriminating in and around your set is patriotism for me. It is patriotism for me to talk lovingly not only to the upper class but also to the lower class people on my set.

What would you say is the proudest moment of your career?

-The role of this film was written for a hero by director Sudipto Sen. But he made this role heroine oriented for me, this was a big thing for me. Only one small change was made in the film, the rest of the story and dialogues were kept as it was. This was a very proud moment for me.

When do you feel inferior as a girl?

-I have felt the feeling of inferiority countless times. I feel very bad when a girl is considered inferior. Girls are judged very quickly. Assumptions are made about them. I have strong objection to this, but it will change only when you change this thinking towards girls in your home. You have to tell your son at home that both genders are equal. You have to end this inequality from your home, only then the society will change. Summons will be sent to Ada Sharma for ‘Bastar’! Shows canceled in Karnataka and other states, film to be banned soon

Your father served in the Army, what have you learned from your Army background?

– I learned focus and discipline from my army background. I learned the practice from this background of mine. Now, if I used to practice singing or take dance training, I never left it halfway. I never said that today I am tired and will not do Riyaz. I benefited from this during shooting. Many times we have to work in adverse conditions, act even when we are not feeling well, so since my training has been continuous practice, I am able to do my work with full dedication.

You keep posting about your mother and grandmother on social media, how much do you consider their contribution in your life?

-I look at my mother and grandmother as power house ladies in my life. I consider these people as superwomen. While she is also engaged in spirituality, she is equally adept at household work. I have seen my mother, the efficiency with which she manages the house, she can even read my mind. They have made many sacrifices for us and their work continues. Even when I was in school, she used to take care of my studies and all the household work. Today, when I am in films, along with doing all the household work, she also listens to my dialogues. Helps me in my interviews. My grandmother is 90 years old, but even at this age, her active nature is visible. Along with taking care of the house, she also teaches small children. She cooks her own food and also goes for walks. After doing so much work, she also comes to Instagram to check who has posted what. After reading news or posts about me, she also asks whether what is written is true. He is super active and very inspiring.

Recently, you were also in the news for the web series Sunflower 2?

-I enjoyed this character a lot and my fans also liked it a lot. To be honest, I have never played such a strange character. This is very weird. I was shocked after reading this. I was wondering how I would handle it. This is a very different role in itself. This is a scary, cute and strange character. This is a very unpredictable character. It was a lot of fun playing this character with a comedy master like Sunil Grover. Along with me, Ashish Vidyarthi sir, Ranveer Shorey and Girish Kulkarni are also there in it. I tease everyone in the show.
