Rhino Racing Launches RR01 Super Sports Car
Lithuanian special edition car company, Rhino Racing, has recently unveiled its latest creation – the RR01 super sports car. This car is described as a “kit car for racing that can be legally raced on the road,” offering exotic car connoisseurs the opportunity to own a unique and high-performance vehicle.
The RR01 is built on a core structure based on the Porsche Carrera GT and 918 Spyder, featuring a copy of the chassis frame and a centrally positioned engine. With a hardtop coupe design and gullwing doors, the car bears a striking resemblance to a Porsche prototype.
According to Rhino Racing’s website, the entry-level RR01 model is priced at €25,000 (US$26,906 / £21,444), or 918,000 baht in Thai currency, excluding import taxes. This base model comes with an aluminum monocoque chassis with a roll cage, a fiberglass body, fully adjustable double wishbone suspension system, shock absorbers with adjustable response, and a sports steering wheel with a 4.3-inch display.
For buyers seeking a more track-focused version, the top model RR01 “Option 2” is available at a price of 27,500 euros (29,595 USD / 23,590 pounds) or about 1,009,000 baht. This model does not come with an engine and is specifically designed for use on the race track, featuring race-style polycarbonate plastic windshields, 19-inch wheels wrapped in Toyo sports tires, and AP Racing brakes with 6-piston calipers at the front and single-piston rear.
Customers can opt to include the 5.2-liter V10 engine sourced from the Audi R8, along with an 8-speed gearbox, ECU, and Motorsport style limited-slip differential which drives the rear wheels with a power of 480 hp (358 kW / 487 hp) at an additional cost of €37,500 ($40,365 / £32,160).
One of the defining features of Rhino Racing kit cars is that they are designed for buyers to assemble at their own garage without requiring much technical knowledge. All components are set to be ready for shipping in August or September.
The RR01’s combination of performance, unique design, and customization options is expected to appeal to car enthusiasts who are looking for a distinctive and exciting driving experience.
