In St. Petersburg, a criminal case was opened on insulting the feelings of believers because of a photo in social networks of a girl who openly posed against the background of St. Isaac’s Cathedral. The issue of choosing a preventive measure and bringing charges is being resolved, the UK website says.

Earlier, Fontanka reported about the detention of a resident of St. Petersburg with reference to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In the picture, a girl stands facing the cathedral with a raised skirt, a young man is posing next to her.

The Investigative Committee then said that the girl was detained for “public actions expressing clear disrespect for society and committed in order to offend the religious feelings of believers” (part 1 of article 148 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

Investigative Committee finds out all the circumstances of the incident, the investigation of the criminal case continues, the report says.

Earlier, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow sentenced blogger Ruslan Bobiev and his girlfriend Asya Akimova to 10 months in a general regime colony for a provocative photoset against the background of St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow. The couple were convicted of the same article.
