Rajkot : Malayalee cricketer S Sreesanth has said that he has no qualms about not being considered by anyone in the IPL star auction 2022. Sreesanth sings the song ‘Ruk Jana Nahi Tu Kahin Har Ke’ from the movie Imtihan starring Kishore Kumar.

The player, who could not even make the final list for the 2021 auction, was expected to make the list of 590 bidders this time around. However, Malayalee cricket fans were upset that Sreesanth’s name was not even called for auction.

But Shree shares a video of himself singing the song on his social media page, announcing that he will not give up on it. Sreesanth’s song ‘Ruk Jana Nahi Tu Kahin Har Ke’ means never stop wherever you are lost.

Sreesanth tweeted, “Always thank you and always look forward and offer love and respect to all.”

Thirteen players of the Kerala Cricket Association, including Sreesanth, have been shortlisted for the auction. However, seven players, including Sreesanth, were not named in the auction. Malayalee players, including Sreesanth, may have been denied the opportunity as the teams did not show interest in the accelerated auction.

Four KCA players have secured tickets for the 2022 IPL season. Malayalee players Vishnu Vinod, Basil Thampi and KM Asif and Kerala’s guest star Robin Uthappa have been shortlisted for the IPL.

While Sunrisers Hyderabad acquired Vishnu for Rs 50 lakh, Basil (30 lakh), Asif (20 lakh) and Uthappa (2 crore) were acquired by the other teams for a base price. Uthappa and Asif were retained by Chennai at auction when Basil became part of Mumbai for the base.

Apart from them, two other Malayalee players have also been part of the IPL through auctions. Karnataka’s Devadath Padikallu and Karun Nair have been acquired by Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan won the Royal Challengers Bangalore opener’s Rs 7.75 crore. In the second round, the Royals added Karun Nair with Rs 1.4 crore.
