Jordanian national team coach Jamal Salami confirmed on Wednesday that the Iraqi and Jordanian national teams are candidates to qualify for the World Cup, while confirming the readiness of his players for tomorrow’s match.
Salami said in the press conference – which was attended by the correspondent of the (INA): “Our match against the Iraqi team is important and expected since we entered the Iraq group,” indicating that “his team is ready for this match, especially after the return of all the injured.”
He added, ”The Iraqi and Jordanian teams are candidates to qualify for the World Cup, and tomorrow’s match will not be decisive,” noting, “The Jordanian team has a high-level medical team that was able to prepare the players, especially Musa Al-Taamari and Yazan Al-Naimat.”
He stressed, “All our players are ready for this match and we have the desire to attend and return with victory from this match,” noting, “We came to Basra and we know what awaits us on the field.”
He continued, “Ayman Hussein is the undisputed star of the Iraqi team and the way the Iraqi team plays depends on Ayman Hussein and we have high-level defenders to limit his danger,” adding, ”We have some circumstances that were the reason for our delay in coming to Iraq by delaying some professionals,” explaining, “The playing field is good, and any player would like to play in such a stadium.”
For his part, Jordanian national team player Musa Al-Taamari expressed in the press conference his thanks to Iraq for hosting, stating, “We hope it will be a beautiful match and we congratulate the winner.”
He stressed that he is “one of the players who likes to play under public pressure,” pointing out that “tomorrow’s match does not determine the winner’s qualification.”
