/ The Iraqi handball team lost, on Monday, to its Emirati counterpart with a score of 23-28 goals in the match to determine the positions in the 21st Asian Handball Championship, currently underway in Bahrain.

Hossam Abdel Reda, a member of the media office of the Handball Federation, told Agency, “The team lost today to its Emirati counterpart by five points in the match to determine seventh and eighth places.”

Abdul Reda added, “Today’s loss placed the Iraqi team in eighth place in Asia, while the UAE team came in seventh place.

He pointed out that Iraq lost the opportunity to qualify for the World Cup after losing yesterday to the Kuwaiti team with a score of 20-32 goals in the Asian Handball Championship.
