The Iraqi national speedball team won a bronze medal in the 35th World Championship, which was held in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Central Iraqi Speedball Federation said, in a statement received by the (INA): “The national speedball team player (Anas Omar Dhannoun) was able to achieve third place in the individual event for the junior category in the 35th World Championship, which concluded its activities in the capital.” “Egyptian Cairo, adding that Iraq’s winning of a bronze medal in the World Cup is an unprecedented achievement throughout the past participations.”
He added, ”The national team in the advanced and junior categories was able to achieve the fourth team ranking in the world, which is considered an achievement for the Iraqi team players and their training staff, indicating that the competition was intense between our players and their competitors from the international teams participating in the tournament, who have great experience.”
It is noteworthy that one of the players of the Iraqi speedball team previously ranked fourth in the 34th World Championship, which was held in the Turkish city of Istanbul in 2023.
