AIADMK coordinator O. Panneerselvam has said that it is sad that Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan has said that it is not possible to reduce taxes on petrol and diesel in Tamil Nadu.
In his statement, he said it was unreasonable to say that the Tamil Nadu government alone could not afford to reduce the tax on petrol and diesel as most of the states in India have reduced the tax as the federal tax is applicable to all states.
O. Panneerselvam has said that this announcement of the Tamil Nadu government is like pouring vinegar on the people affected by the rise in prices of essential commodities.
