Already, the average temperature of the planet is flirting with an increase of 1.4°C since the start of the industrial era. But there are still glimmers of hope for limiting warming.

The chances of containing global warming to +1.5°C by the end of the century, compared to the pre-industrial era, have never been so slim. The latest report on global emissions from Unep (United Nations Environment Program) evaluates them at « only 14 % » provided that the most optimistic scenario comes true, that is to say that all commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are followed to the letter and that the strengthening of projects announced by around a hundred countries for 2030 is respected. To achieve this objective, it will also be necessary for the entire world to achieve carbon neutrality in 2050, that is to say that residual emissions, particularly from agriculture and livestock, are offset by new techniques. reduction of emissions.
