Residents have been asked to evacuate in specific areas in the Bekaa area in the east of the country and in the Sur area in the south, which are regularly shelled by Israeli military planes.
“An urgent warning to the residents of the Bekah area, especially those in the building marked on the map in the Tamneen district,” Israeli army press spokesman Avichai Adrai said on Platform X. The announcement states that there are “Hizbollah” objects and interests, which the Israeli army will target in the near future.
Adraei later issued evacuation calls for residents of two more Bekaa districts. These calls were soon followed by another order issued by the army to evacuate residents of the Alhawsha district near the southern Lebanese city of Sur.
Israel has said its military campaign against Hezbollah is aimed at making the region safe so that the 60,000 residents of northern Israel who have been evacuated can return home. Many of them left their homes due to cross-border firefights between Israel and Hezbollah after the start of hostilities in the Gaza Strip on October 7 last year.
